I was privileged to meet Veronica through a group of Twitter friends. She shared her poetry and fiction writing with us. She and I shared a love of miniature scenes. Her creative light was so bright and she is missed greatly. May your spirit light our paths, dear friend. Go with God.

Veronica was a lovely person, beloved by all who were blessed to know her, a very dear friend. She was a bright light in the world and especially on Twitter. She was so many things - a mother, a friend, a lover of flowers & gardens, a writer of poetry and prose, a spiritual person, a lover and carer of animals, a teacher through sharing her experiences, a brave, strong woman who I grew to admire and love so easily. I learned so much just from conversations with her. When she lost her voice, she used her words to share her feelings and experiences, so others would understand what she was going through, and also to help others whose loved one may be starting a similar journey. Just because someone loses their ability to speak, doesn't mean they no longer have anything of importance to say or contribute to the world. That may be just when they find their voice. She loved animals her entire life. People would leave animals outside her door sometimes because they knew Veronica would love and care for them. She loved living by the sea and would often share beautiful photos and vivid descriptions including history (and that Vera was filmed there and throughout Northumberland!). Veronica will be in my heart forever and I'm so blessed to have known her. Twitter brought us together across the world, and she was loved by so many. I send my deepest condolences and love to Maree, Charlie, Alfie, kitties, and her extended family. Veronica is now free and reunited with Austin, Shadow, her other furbabies & those whom she loved. We know she will take good care of all the furbabies until we too are reunited.

Veronica was my Twitter friend. I adored her! Veronica was always a kind, loving, supportive, considerate, caring & funny, member of the Twitterverse! I was one of the many lucky persons who was gifted by her friendship. Veronica will be missed tremendously by many of us, who tweeted with her regularly. We will miss her & her funny tweets about Charlie.I hope he’s well & being cared for by family members. I send my love to Charlie & her family. Veronica had friends all over the world. I’m one of them from the United States of America. Veronica was cared about by her Twitter Community. Her absence is felt by all who were blessed to know her.

Veronica was a lovely person, caring and loving. She loved animals. And she was very talented, she was such a good poet. She went though so much with her illness, she was so brave. Although I only met her a few years ago on Twitter, I will miss Veronica terribly.

Rest in peace dear Veronica. You were courageous to the end. Your poems bring us all inspiration and truthfulness about such a cruel disease. You told me that your lovely daughter Maree was your guardian Angel whilst here on Earth. You will now be surrounded with God’s Angels in the heavenly skies free from all pain. We chatted often and even though I never met you in person you became a great friend. I will miss you, With much love and affection Irene 🙏❤️

Veronica, my friend who could no longer speak but whose voiceless words were clear and said it all… now restored to her former glory. May you be surrounded by (fur) angels. With love 🙏🏻❤️
Attending a funeral FAQs
What should I wear?
We normally associate wearing black with going to a funeral. But it is increasingly typical for families to express a preferred dress code. Our advice is to look out for information from the family in a notice published either in newspapers, online or in the funeral director window to advise you of their preference.
How long does a service last?
Typically a service in most churches or crematoria lasts around 20-30 minutes. A formal mass may take a little longer and we would expect this to be nearer an hour. Finally, burials can vary in length as they are weather dependent.
Where should I sit?
Family and close friends typically reserve the first couple of rows in a service. We recommend sitting nearer the front than the back of a service space in order to support the family and enabling late arrivals to discreetly fill back rows.
Where should I send flowers?
Often a family will express a preference for flowers - or charity donations in lieu of flowers. We recommend you keep an eye on notices posted in newspapers, or online or in the funeral director window so you are able to follow their wishes.
